Quick Recap
On February 25th at 8:00 p.m. I was getting ready for bed. I brushed my teeth, took my pre-natal vitamin and then went to use the bathroom. Something was not right. I came down the stairs and Mike was writing his show report for work. I said to him, I don't think you will be going to work tomorrow. He said why. I explained that I thought my water had just broke. I called the dr. and they told me to go to the hospital just to check things out. In triage they confirmed that I had broke my water and admitted me into a delivery room. I walked the hallways for a little while, paced in the room, used the bathroom a-lot, sat in the rocking chair. My labor was not progressing as quickly as they would have liked, so they started me on pitocin. The the pains really began. I was dilated to a 4 and asked for an epidural. The best decision of my life! It was a little painful getting the epidural but the outcome was well worth it. I was relaxed, slept a bit, and did not feel a thing. I could still move my legs even though they felt numb to the touch. Finally I was dilated to a 10 and it was time to start pushing. I pushed for 2 hours and finally on Feb. 26th at 8:04 p.m. our little Charlie made his debut. I was in labor for 20 hours. I am so glad that our little guy is here. We are now at home and spending every waking moment taking care of him. We are learning so much in this first week. What a joy he is. We love him so much and are so excited that we are the ones to watch him grow.
